I visited New York in 2019 and one of my favorite moments was seeing the Manhattan Bridge up close. It was a cloudy day, but I still tried my best to capture some pictures. Even with the gray skies, the bridge looked amazing.

The Manhattan Bridge has always felt a little rougher and more honest than the postcard views of Brooklyn Bridge. Opened in 1909, it was built to move people fast between Lower Manhattan and Brooklyn, with steel towers, wide suspension cables, and subway tracks rattling straight through its core. Photographers love it because it frames the city perfectly. From Washington Street in DUMBO, the bridge creates that iconic corridor with the Empire State Building tucked between the arches.
